Mshayi & Mr Thela – Make Cape Town Great Again 2.0
It’s a reunion of sorts for serial collaborators Mr Thela & Mshayi. The pair serves a new project titled “Make Cape Town Great Again 2.0” album.
From the title, it is obvious this body of work is a shout-out to Cape Town, a city that has seen some of the gqom duo’s talents on display. The pair also managed to capture the landscape of the town on the cover art of the tracklist. Xola Toto, Langa Jajula, Rhass, TMan, Rvks, and Bravo Le Roux are among the artistes who found feature spots in the compilation. For an album of this length, the guests are pretty few. But that’s by the way.
Mshayi and Senzo Afrika manage to weave an interesting tale with their latest compilation – a tale that will engage just about any audience, whether or not they have roots in Cape Town to which the gqom duo is paying fealty.
